Ellana Cosmetics Lip In Luxe Liquid Matte Lipstick Review
Liquid matte lipsticks had its moment a few years ago and there's no denying that it is still having a moment right now. But where do you start when there are so many brands to choose from? I've personally chose and tested out the much loved local brand Ellana Minerals Cosmetics's Lip in Luxe Liquid Matte Lipsticks so you get an idea on how long-lasting the formula is, to the best shade range.
This brand is known for its cruelty-free and high-performance products and the Lip in Luxe Liquid Matte Lipsticks are one of the best-sellers. There's a whopping 18 shades on their website here, ranging from nudes to deep reds, so you'll have plenty to choose from. I got these in Love is Life, Love is True and Love is Bliss.
Love is Life - This shade appears to be slightly nude orange on my lips. It's an all around color that matches a peach blush or eyeshadow.
Love is Bliss- Almost similar to Love is Pure but this one is the nude pink counterpart.
Love is True - It has a reddish pink shade that somewhat resembles a rose petal. Something I would wear for night-out parties or for power-dressing.
The shades are optimal for any skin tone, especially formulated for Asians. My personal favorite would be Love is Bliss. It's an everyday shade I can wear to meetings, events and such.
What's not to love when these lipsticks are waterproof, kiss proof, smudge proof, unscented and perfectly matte? It's super pigmented but doesn't set quickly which allows the formula to swipe on evenly without worrying about clumps.
The flexible doe-foot applicator allows precision for better control and I like the fact that they don't stick together while damp and there is barely any transfer of the product on my utensils when I eat. Take note, only oil-based makeup remover can wipe it off.
When it comes to the lasting power, the lippies stay flat and un-flaky throughout the day, it lasted for 4-6 hours before I re-applied, but I guess the trade-off is that they're quite drying on the lips so these are not the best if you are prone to chaps. It's best to wear a balm under the liquid lipstick or better yet, use Ellana's edible lip scrubs before and after applying liquid lipstick.
Overall, the performance of Ellana Minerals Cosmetics's Lip in Luxe Liquid Matte Lipsticks is quite a good catch at a cost of Php499 each and is available at their website, The SM Store, Lazada and Zalora.
