Lub d Hostel Is The New 'IT' Hostel In Makati
Lub d Hostel has been one of the most loved hostels in Bangkok, Phuket and Cambodia and guess what? They just opened here in the Philippines and it's located in no other than the heart of Makati district where night life, shopping malls and restaurants are nearby. Lub d hostel is the next perfect hang out and resting spot for millennials, solo travelers, active explorers, even for family and couples alike!
What makes Lub d stand out is that they make sure their customers leave as friends. If hotels provide privacy, Lub d spearheads social interaction- they have games and activities every hour of every day for everyone in the area.
For travelers who are in for adventures, you can access Tripkada at the Tour Desk to customize travel itineraries for you or even join existing trips they have. That's one cool thing that no other hostel can offer!
They also have a co-working space with FREE WIFI managed by Garage Society so you can continue to build your empire while you travel. This is really helpful for freelancers and digital nomads like me. :)
Sumptuous dishes are made by Chef Nicco and Chef Quenee of Hey Handsome at the Grab & Go deli bar. The dishes and pastries are simple but are full of flavor and my favorite would be the grilled cheese sandwich (would love to share photos but my SD card is corrupted, *sad* ). And OMG, the Milo Dinosaur is a must-try. Not exaggerating, the texture is thick and is not watery. :D
You can also enjoy the movie studio with unlimited popcorn.
Let's get to the accommodations. Lub d has 3 types of rooms: Dorm type (Mixed Dorm & Ladies Dorm), Junior room (Private), and Barkada Room (Family or Group).
Dorm rooms each have its own curtain for privacy, lamp, universal sockets + USB Charging ports, individual locker, dressing area, beautiful shared bathroom, thick comfortable mattresses, clean sheet, duvet & towels, washer / dryer. For as low as Php570 per night, you get one space of your own! Great for backpackers and groups of 8. They also have a dorm room only accessible for women.
For couples, Junior room has a King size bed or 2 large single bed with a private bathroom, smart TV, safe box and all the necessities from toiletries to hairdryer and coffee. Very affordable at a soft-opening rate of Php1800!
The Barkada room is a private 2-floor room which can fit 3-4 people. To blend in with Filipino travel culture, Lub d just added this newest room type. If I'm not mistaken, this room type is around Php2300 only.
All in all, I really love the comfortable and clean atmosphere to get a good sleep, living up to its name's meaning "sleep well". It's a fun and friendly environment, budget-friendly and accessible accommodation for traveling or for staycation, and very Instagrammable too!
BTW, Lub d will be opening its Rooftop Bar and Restaurant in a few weeks so who wants to go with me and check it out? Maybe book a stay in Lub d for the weekend too? :)
